How do you define beauty differently now than you did when you were younger?

I exude beauty through expressing my cultural pride, embracing the curves of my body and, finally, by recognizing the power of self-love.

What inspires you and why?   

A variety of things inspire me. For instance, my own life experiences and the contributions of other Black women inspire me. I have the desire to create awareness and financial independence. Any woman can be inspired by the idea that they can be successful and provide representation for others.

What is one of your favorite motivational or inspirational quotes?   

“Your voice has GREAT power; don’t be afraid to utilize it when needed. You’re NOT an angry Black woman; you’re a woman who has something important to say. Your voice matters and so do YOU.”

What Else Should We Know about Shay?

Is there anything else you want the world to know ?   

I want the world to know that my journey is complex and beautiful. In other words, I carry on the legacy of generations who have navigated challenges, shattered stereotypes, and paved paths for those who have come after them. Above all, I am not defined by the struggles I’ve faced. Rather, I am defined by the strength I’ve gained by overcoming them. In conclusion, my triumphs have been a celebration of my spirit.

I embody a history rich with culture, creativity, and courage. I carry forward lessons of perseverance and self-love. Every day, I honor the voices of my ancestors, whose stories remind me that I know my worth, my undeniable power, and my limitless dreams. Above all, I stand tall and embrace every aspect of life from my roots to my aspirations. I am acutely aware that my voice is essential in crafting a narrative of empowerment and change.

To the younger generations, I’d pass on this truth: Know your history, cherish your uniqueness, and finally, never let anyone narrow your story. The world needs the full spectrum of your experience. This includes your struggles, your triumphs and finally, your vision for a better future. Your journey matters, and every step you take is a powerful declaration of who you are and all you can become.

Shay, the Unveiling

Shay’s biggest accomplishment is being a source of knowledge, guidance, and support for people/entrepreneurs. With this, she pushes people toward success and independence. She is able to do this by constantly learning, refining her insights, and finally, being available when people need advice.

Shay has a high degree of self-awareness and confidence. With this, she has clarity about what truly matters in life. Therefore, she wants to teach others to embrace their authentic selves. Similarly, she believes you should prioritize and put yourself first. Lastly, it is essential to celebrate your growth and to learning to invest in financial independence and literacy.
